I began to get more serious about the violin my senior year of high school and my parents encouraged me to keep up the violin through college, so I kept with it.I have come to enjoy playing the violin more since I have started college here at N.C. State and I also enjoy playing around with a few fiddle and bluegrass tunes.In addition to being involved in the music minor, I am also a member of the Raleigh Civic Symphony and have been playing actively in the Symphony since my freshman year.
I have played for a few weddings and funerals over the years and I have played at a couple church services at my home church and a couple other churches. Occasionally, I will play with the worship team at InterVarsity Christian Fellowships large group meetings here on campus. ![]() I have come to learn that it requires patience, perseverance, and hard work to improve and reach the desired results and I have come to appreciate working hard as I have seen the rewarding results. I would like to than Mrs. Susan Shoemaker for teaching me in my early years of the violin and keeping me at it up until high school. I must thank Mrs. Nora Smilovici for really turning my violin playing around during my senior year of high school and for really helping me break my bad habits and play at a higher level. ![]() Lindi Wang enough for the hard work and patience she has put towards teaching me these last three years leading up to this point. Thank you for your perseverance and for pushing me to understand different characters and techniques involved with playing the violin. I would also like to thank Dr. Foy for his hard work in conducting the Raleigh Civic Symphony that I have been involved in for the past 3 years and my prayers are with him for his health and healing. After graduation I hope to engage in some wildfire work out west and potentially some timber cruising and other forestry-related work.
